AUGUST Seminars Spring 2022

AUGUST SEMINARS

INVITATION

The AUGUST Group is delighted to announce the second series of the AUGUST seminars. In alignment with the scope of AUGUST, the topics of the seminars are within the field of systematic reviews and meta-analyses of preclinical studies. We aim to stimulate discussion, foster and promote collaboration and support in the field.

Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses are crucial in evidence-based medicine and critical for the advancement of science. The methodologies are well-known in the clinical setting. However, the use in preclinical animal science is infrequent. Indeed, a vivid debate on whether the infrequent number of Systematic Reviews and meta-analyses may be part of the reason why translation to the clinical setting is failing is ongoing in the scientific community.

The AUGUST Group believe that Systematic Reviews and meta-analyses on preclinical literature have several advantages, as:

  • they provide information to improve science
  • they improve implementation of the 3Rs principles
  • they increase the transparency on the translational value of animal studies.

We hope to see you at our seminars.

The format will be hybrid (March 28th and APRIL 25th 2022:  VIRTUAL ONLY).
